National

The Prime Minister will confirm £388 million investment in research into vaccines, tests and treatments, and will co-host the  a major international conference to drive forward the global effort  

25 million people now eligible for testing, and the programme continues to expand.  A full list of eligible groups is available 

The Education Secretary has announced a support package for universities and students, bringing forward £2.6 billion of tuition fee payments and enabling English universities to recruit students up to five per cent over their forecasts

The Government has announced a top up to the local business grant funds scheme administered by Local Authorities, aimed at some small businesses that were not previously eligible for support 

More help for the high street will be made available via £6.1m of funding that will be paid to local authorities and dispersed to Business Improvement Districts (BIDs).

Hampshire County Council continues to prepare reopen recycling centres from the 11th May, subject to further guidance from the Government 

The HantsHelp4Vulnerable helpline has as last week (30 April) received a total of 7,697 calls and has made a total of 4,199 Local Response Centre referrals. Help with food shopping, and prescriptions remain the top two reasons for residents seeking support.
